How to create filters from Product Metafields

1. Go to Search & Collections -> Filter Settings.

2. Click on Add Filter Option.

3. To create a Filter using Product Tags, click on the 'Metafields' option.

4. Key and Namespace- these values come from Shopify Custom Data. Below is a video to shows the process to create a Shopify Product Metafield and getting the Key and Namespace value.

1. Filter Label- the display name of filter. This will be displayed on the Store Collection/Search Pages.

2. Filter Display- List/Box/Swatch/Radio. If Swatch is selected, choose the Appropriate Swatch Style- Text List/Round Swatches/Square Swatches/Test + Swatch.

3. Filter Values- All/Manual. All will use all the possible values under the Product Tags. Manual- can be used to choose a list of options for the Filter.

4. Order Facet-Ascending/Descending/Custom. Custom order is only available under 'Manual' Filter Values.

5. Filter Prefix-a prefix string can will be automatically removed from the Filter option value. Example if the options value is 'All Bottoms', and Prefix is 'All '. The Result will be 'Bottoms'.

6. Exclude values- List of values to be excluded from the Filter.

7. Rename Mapping- You can map to change/rename the tag value. Example- Bodysuit- becomes Bodysuits (plural).

One the filter is created, add the Filter to the Filter Trees.
