This section enables merchandisers to create and manage rules such as pinning, boosting, filtering, hiding, and sorting products on Search and Collection Pages. Follow the steps below to configure merchandising on these pages.

Creating a Configuration

  • To create a new Search & Collections Configuration, click on the Add New Config button.

  • The new configuration will encompass all merchandising settings for the Search and Collection Pages.

  • To edit an existing configuration, click on the Pencil icon.

Copy/Duplicate configuration

  • To duplicate an existing configuration, click on the Copy icon.

  • The duplicated configuration will inherit all settings from the original, including groups, rules, sorting, and personalization configurations.

  • Important: The duplicated configuration shares the original settings. Any changes made to these settings in the duplicated configuration will automatically update the original configuration. This feature is particularly useful for maintaining consistency across A/B tests without needing to manually replicate changes across multiple configurations.

    • Example: If you add a collection page to a group in the duplicated configuration, the same change will be applied to the original configuration.

A/B Testing

  • Multiple configurations can be created to conduct A/B testing of different settings. A/B test parameters are managed in the A/B Test section.

  • Control the percentage of traffic directed to each configuration through the A/B Test settings.

  • After updating the traffic settings, click the Save button to apply the changes.

Edit Merchandising

  • Each configuration allows you to manage merchandising for Search and Collection Pages separately through dedicated tabs. Below is an overview of the settings available in each section.

Merchandise Collection Pages

  • The Collections tab manages all merchandising settings for Collection Pages.

  • Default Collection Merchandising: This setting applies to all Collection Pages by default.

  • To override the default settings, you can create a Collection Group. This allows you to group multiple collections together and apply specific merchandising settings that will only affect that group.

  • To create a group, click on Add Group. You can either create a new group or select an existing one.

  • Click on Edit Merchandising to add or update settings for the Collection Pages within the group.

  • For a detailed guide on creating collection groups, sorting, and applying rules, please refer to the video walkthrough below. To learn more about sorting and rules, visit the corresponding sections.

Merchandise Search Pages

  • The Search tab manages all merchandising settings for search queries.

  • Default Search Merchandising: This setting applies to all search queries by default.

  • To customize settings for specific queries, you can create a Search Group. This allows you to group multiple queries together and apply merchandising settings specific to that group.

  • To create a group, click on Add Group. You can either create a new group or select an existing one.

  • After creating the group, you can add search queries to it.

  • Queries can be matched with conditions in the following ways-

    • is: the entire query matches the condition string.

    • contains: the entire query contains the condition string

    • starts with: the query starts with the condition string.

    • ends with: the query ends with the condition string.

  • Click on Edit Merchandising to add or update settings for the search queries.

  • The video below is a quick walk though of creating search query groups, sorting and rules.

  • For a step-by-step guide on creating search query groups, sorting, and applying rules, please refer to the video walkthrough below. To learn more about sorting and rules, visit the corresponding sections.
